Fall 2026 to early spring 2027: what the outlook supports

Reviewed October 6, 2026. NOAA CPC’s September 17, 2026 outlook favors wetter seasonal conditions across much of the southern U.S., including the Gulf Coast and Southeast, with a California wet signal into winter. These are regional rainfall tendencies, not forecasts of damaging storms at individual homes. The next scheduled outlook is October 15; check the source for newer guidance.

PROJECT NOTES

Keep hail separate from the El Niño story

More seasonal rain does not establish more hail. El Niño alone cannot identify cities expecting heavy hail months ahead. Our Texas and Oklahoma focus is a recovery-content choice, not a forecast of an unusually damaging hail season. Use current SPC severe-weather outlooks and local NWS warnings as events approach.

PROJECT NOTES

Start with the property, then the region

Choose the regional guide that matches your property. Use a ZIP forecast for near-term conditions, document actual damage safely, and organize a recovery brief before requesting provider review.

  • Homes: affected rooms, exterior areas, existing protection and reconstruction needs
  • Managed property: affected buildings, units, access and decision authority
  • Commercial property: observed scope, operations, available reports and existing commitments
