PROJECT NOTES

Compare the same project boundaries

An emergency mitigation authorization may not include demolition, reconstruction, contents work or final finishes. Ask each provider to make inclusions and exclusions explicit before comparing proposal totals.

  • Areas included, inspection assumptions and remaining unknowns
  • Mitigation, cleanup, demolition and reconstruction boundaries
  • Materials, finishes, contents work and subcontracted trades
  • Access, permits, schedule assumptions and cleanup
  • Payment milestones, change approvals and warranty responsibilities
PROJECT NOTES

Check the company that will hold the contract

Confirm the legal contracting entity, relevant licensing where required, insurance and experience with similar losses. Ask who manages work, who handles subcontractors and whom you contact if something changes. Obtain this information directly from the provider.

PROJECT NOTES

Keep estimates separate from claim decisions

A restoration proposal does not establish what an insurer owes or whether particular work is covered. Direct coverage questions to your insurer or an appropriately licensed professional. Cat Loss Boss does not negotiate claims or determine coverage.
