RECOVERY RESOURCE / MULTI-BUILDING STORM LOSS

Multiple buildings. One organized recovery brief.

Prepare a storm-loss brief for multiple buildings or units. Organize access, decision authority, existing scopes and restoration coordination.

PROJECT NOTES

Start with the building list

Record each affected building separately and distinguish total property size from the observed damaged areas. For rental or association property, identify your authority and the contact who can authorize access. Do not include tenant names or sensitive resident details in a general project request.

  • Affected buildings, floors and unit counts
  • Roof, exterior, interior and common-area observations
  • Site access and occupancy restrictions
  • Authorized decision-maker and existing providers
PROJECT NOTES

Separate common systems and private areas

A storm may produce different scopes across shared exteriors, individual interiors and common building systems. Ask who owns each work decision and how approvals are coordinated. Avoid one undifferentiated proposal that makes it difficult to identify exclusions or duplicated work across buildings.

PROJECT NOTES

Ask for a repeatable reporting process

Request building-level photographs, scope records and progress updates, with a clear process for additional findings and approvals. Identify who coordinates occupied areas, utilities, access and other trades. A traveling catastrophe provider still needs to verify capacity and local requirements for each property.

PROJECT NOTES

Prepare the introduction around actual fit

Use the planner to summarize the number of affected areas, location and requested review. An exclusive introduction may be sold with your permission to a selected independent provider; national intake does not guarantee local availability. Evaluate the contracting company, written scope, insurance and qualifications directly before authorizing work.
